As part of our process we looked into wind the it's effect on clouds, our bodies and our minds. The video below; Blow Up by Scott Snibbe, is a beautiful, fan assisted, interactive installation. One can see how the installation expands the person blowing into something that effects the by-standers as a westerly wind might.
Below: This video had a big impact on the way the group choreographed movement sequences, and how we structured the relationship between text and movement.
Text - Giving it time and space to not be distracted by something other. Stand and speak.
Movement - We began developing a dance that hung between soft, unfinished movements to stark loud extenuating movements. For these movements to hold meaning they must be cared for, they must mean something to the doer, more than what they think it might mean to an audience.
Reading Eleanor Methany I see how we find meaning in life through movement and form.
